Sinusitis

Sinusitis is the inflammation caused by too much mucus or swelling of the lining of the sinuses and nose which can block the narrow channels. Common cold, allergic rhinitis, nasal polyps, deviated nasal septum are the common conditions that cause nasal blockage. Nasal discharge, cough, heaviness in the head, headache, swelling of the face, blocked nose, congestion, foul smell in the breath etc. are the symptoms seen in the sinusitis and generally persists for 4-8 weeks.

Panchakarma procedures available:

  1. Nasya –Instillation of medicated powder or oils into the nose.
  2. Thalam – Retention of medicated paste in the centre of head.
  3. Dhumapana – Inhalation of medicated smoke.
  4. Shirodhara – Pouring of medicated oil over the forehead.
  5. Vamanam – Periodical emesis.
